Expert Oxygen Permeable (RGP) Contact Lenses Tips
Differences between RGP and Soft Lenses
RGP (Rigid Gas Permeable) lenses in the initial stages are less comfortable and take longer to get used to. They are made up of a harder and less pliable material which adds to the discomfort but makes them more durabile. However, they do have some significant advantages
- Vision with RGPs is usually better than soft lenses
- They are healthier because of their smaller size and increased permeability for oxygen
- RGPs correct astigmatism whereas soft spherical lenses do not.
